How to operate the
Ecobee Thermostat
Once you have settled in, if needed, set the Ecobee Thermostat to your desired cooling or heating temperature.
While the HVAC is operating, for best ambient comfort, please keep ALL doors and windows closed at all times. Leaving doors/windows open while in operation can cause system to freeze and a possible service call (that can cause loss of your Refundable Damage Deposit).

To use your Ecobee smart thermostat, tap the screen to wake it up. Adjust the temperature up or down by tapping the large number on the home screen and sliding your finger. Change heating or cooling modes by tapping the system icon.
Adjusting the Temperature
- Wake screen: Touch the glass.
- Change target: Tap the main number.
- Slide or press: Move your finger up or down or use the
+and-signs. - Save setting: Tap anywhere else to lock it in.
- Colors: Orange means heat, blue means cool, white means off.
Changing System Modes
- Open menu: Tap the mode icon (flame for heat, snowflake for cool) at the top.
- Pick option: Select Heat, Cool, Auto, or Off.
- Auto mode: Sets a range. The system heats if it gets too cold and cools if it gets too hot.
Understanding Holds
- Temporary hold: A new temperature change lasts for a set number of hours or until the next scheduled program change.
- Permanent hold: The temperature stays at your new number until you change it back manually.
- Cancel hold: Tap Resume on the main screen to go back to your normal schedule.
